What It Is
This program shows the way towards new styles of leadership that better match the needs of diverse employees and persuades leaders to view their role in a different way in order to be more effective in today’s environment. Examples for discussion include various leadership philosophies, methods, and expectations from recent history and how they differ from where we are now in the global workplace.

Objectives
Participants will: 

  • illustrate how old styles of leadership are ineffective for today’s diverse workforce
  • compare and contrast old and new models of leadership
  • build skills for new styles of leadership that better match the needs of diverse employees
  • provide strategies and tools for adapting leadership styles to better meet the needs of today’s diverse workforce

Why You Need It
Today’s leaders function in a very different workplace. Demands on them are greater, their staff is more diverse and information is doubling at an incredible rate. Within this environment, leaders can no longer cling to old styles of leadership and still be effective. Yet, many of our organizations still teach and promote old styles of leadership that, for a diverse workforce, are at best ineffective, and at times offensive.
