Strength in Hand

Situational Leadership

What It Is
Ken Blanchard’s Situational Leadership model is a comprehensive, practical method for developing and leading peak performers. Any given performer responds differently to the variety of tasks and situations making up his or her job, and the role of the Situational Leader is to provide whatever it takes—goals, direction, training, support, feedback, and recognition—to help develop the skills, motivation, and confidence to excel. The result is an organization where people feel empowered, engaged, and open to new challenges.

Objectives
Participants will:

  • learn how to identify the needs of their employees
  • receive a personal assessment which will identify their ability to match the appropriate leadership style to the needs of a particular performer
  • learn how to tailor their management style to each situation

Why You Need It
The days are past where managers can expect all their direct reports to conform successfully to a single style of management, no matter what their role or function within the organization. Yet still, the most often cited reason why employees leave their jobs is conflict with their managers. Successful managers view their employees as individuals, and adapt themselves to the situation at hand in order to provide the strongest support possible.

Adaptable managers + successful employees = Strength in Hand.
